In my opinion, a very interesting approach to this problem at the end of the last century was developed in his book "Information and the Phenomenon of Life" by the famous Soviet geneticist prof. V.I. Korogodin. He puts at the forefront "The property that unites all the diversity of living beings is the ability to perform purposeful actions.")

(Abstract - We recall the meaning and definition of the proton polarizability and consider a new JLab measurement of the generalized polarizabilities (GP), which apparently confirms existence of a peak at Q2=0.33 GeV2 in Q2 dependence of the electric GP observed almost two decades ago in the MAMI experiment. This anomaly (peak at Q2=0.33 GeV2) has been questioned for many years since the theoretical calculations predict a monotonic fall-off with Q2.

Investigation of value and creation mechanism of atmospheric plasmoid charge.
      HEPD_Seminar_Stepanov_S.I._15.11.2022.mp4 - Video of S.I. Stepanov's speech.
(Abstract - The electric charge of the plasmoid was found earlier using a plasma probe. Recently the measuring equipment has been improved. The measured charge of the negative plasmoid turned out to be about -35 nC. To find the cause of the charge, the Gauss theorem is applied. To apply the theorem, a sphere is constructed around the plasmoid. Let's estimate the integral of the normal component of the electric field over the sphere. The electric field entering a spherical plasmoid through a plasma jet is small and occupies a small fraction on the sphere. The field coming out of the plasmoid in the streamer region is much larger and occupies a large part of the sphere. Thus, the integral is not zero, and the plasmoid has a charge during the discharge current. After the current is turned off, the charge does not drain to the electrodes, presumably due to the rapid decrease in the decrease in plasma conductivity between the plasmoid and the electrodes. This study shows that the electric charge is a property of the plasmoid, as it previously believed in relation to ball lightning.)

An analysis was made of single-spin polarization effects, such as single-spin asymmetry of hadrons (AN), hyperon polarization (PN), polarization (α), and alignment (ρ00) of vector mesons. Possible mechanisms of the observed polarization phenomena are discussed, including the chromomagnetic polarization of quarks (CPQ) model, within which a global analysis of more than 120 inclusive and exclusive reactions is carried out. The dependence of polarization observables on kinematic and other variables, including the quark composition of particles, is considered.)

(Abstract - The study of dark matter (DM) is one of the most urgent problems of modern physics. Currently, the search for the effects of the DM manifestation is carried out in many experiments with different experimental approaches. The DAMA/LIBRA collaboration, aimed at the direct detection of dark matter particles, announced recently a statistically significant result at the level of 13 standard deviations, which is interpreted as signals from the interactions of dark matter particles with electrons or nuclei in the sensitive volume of the detector. At the same time, other experiments with a similar detection technique do not confirm this observation. We will discuss the results of the DAMA/LIBRA experiment and their possible alternative interpretation proposed by the COSINE-100 collaboration.

(Abstract - Axions, first proposed by Peccei and Quinn in 1977 as a solution to strong CP-violation in QCD, are widely discussed as a plausible candidate for dark matter. One of manifestations of the cold galactic halo axions can be a NMR-like resonant rotation of the spin in the oscillating axion field. Here the spin serves as an axion antenna. We discuss a new approach to search for axions in the storage ring experiments, applicable at short coherence time of the in-plane polarization as is the case for protons. The technique can readily be applied at any storage ring equipped with an internal polarimeter for the radial polarization of the beam (COSY, NICA, PTR). We point out a possibility of substantial broadening of the range of attainable axion masses in storage rings with the hybrid electric and magnetic bending, the PTR proton storage ring being an example.

(Abstract - Many types of detectors, such as cathode strip chambers, provide a possibility to reconstruct track positions by induced strip charges. There are two main types of algebraic methods for this: center of gravity methods and little known differential methods. Methods of both types can provide fast and sometimes very accurate reconstruction of the track coordinate, which is in some cases an uninterrupted estimate of the coordinate. But a consistent description of differential methods, as well as descriptions of some center of gravity methods, is not yet presented. Their comparative performance is unknown. This report fills this gap. Many new generalized formulas of both types are deduced from general considerations. Their performance is studied with a simplified simulation of a detector.)

HEPD_Seminar_Than_Naing_Soe_14.06.2022.mp4 - Video of Тан Найнг Со's speech.
(Abstract - This work is related to topical problems of modern physics, which can be solved using track detectors. In particular, it describes in detail the experiment carried out by the author as part of the FIAN group to search for superheavy elements in nature - tracks of nuclei in olivines from meteorites within the framework of the OLYMPIA Experiment. The paper describes an original technique for working with olivines, presents the results of the study in the form of a charge distribution of the nuclei of galactic cosmic rays. During the work, three superheavy nuclei with a charge Z = 119+10?6 were observed. The paper investigates the cases of the appearance of tracks of a special shape and considers the possible reasons for their appearance. The effect of nuclear fragmentation on the shape of the charge distribution is shown. The charge distributions of unusually shaped nuclei in some olivine crystals are considered, and it is shown that the reason for this phenomenon may be the annealing of tracks during heating of a meteorite during its passage through the atmosphere. The reasons for the curvature of tracks in the Seimchan meteorite are investigated and it is shown that this is the result of a meteorite collision with another cosmic body. As a result, there was a local heating of the meteorite, its melting and displacement of olivine layers due to convection. The developed author's methods of working with track detectors (including those with nuclear emulsion) are successfully used in the preparation of experiments using nuclear emulsion, including international experiments to search for New Physics phenomena - SHiP and NEWSdm.)

      HEPD_Seminar_Burmasov.N.A_31.05.2022.mp4 - Video of N.A.Burmasov's speech.
(Abstract - Ultra-peripheral collisions of heavy ions can be distinguished by the large impact parameter between incoming nuclei, making this type of collisions a unique tool for studies of two-photon interactions in an environment with strongly suppressed hadronic interactions. In particular, there has been an increasing interest in analysis of such processes as ditau production and light-by-light scattering. Possible deviations of measured cross sections from predictions of Standard Model calculations may indicate presence of new physics. Furthermore, there is a special interest in searches for possible production of axion-like particles in the light-by-light scattering process at low invariant masses.
In this seminar, recent results from the Large Hadron Collider experiments on measurements of tau anomalous magnetic moment and light-by-light cross sections, as well as searches for axion-like particle production will be discussed. Also, for the fist time, using the CMS-TOTEM combined measurements, the process with two rapidity gaps, one inside a dijet, and another between the dijet and an intact proton, was measured. This helps to better understanding the role of QCD (BFKL) Pomeron at high energies and the impact of spectator partons in the destruction of the rapidity gap.)

Single dissociation and the central instanton production is considered. In diffractive events there is a chance to observe the instanton signal which is by an order of magnitude larger than that from the background.)

(Abstract - The SPASCHARM experiment (NRC KI - IHEP, Protvino) will be the first in the world to offer the possibility of simultaneous measurements both of asymmetry, A_N and polarization, P_N for the Lambda hyperon. The Comparison of the specified parameters for hyperons opens up additional possibilities for choice in favor of a particular theoretical model. In particular, the developed at IHEP phenomenological model of quark chromomagnetic polarization which claims to be a global explanation of polarization effects at the hadron interactions.)

(Abstract - In this talk we discuss the unique properties of the top quark, the heaviest known particle in the Universe and the only "free" coloured object and a special role which it plays in the Standard model and in many extensions beyond. We emphasize the importance of the accurate measurements of the top properties, in particular, the mass. It is argued that the best possibility for precision measurements of the top quark mass, width and other parameters will be provided by the threshold scan of the top quark pair production at a future electron-positron collider. At the end, the saga of the so-called Higgstrahlung process (aka Bjorken process) of Higgs production at electron colliders will be briefly presented.

(Abstract - The model which incorporates the main properties of inclusive particle distributions expected for diffractive processes at high energies is described. The model includes the diffusion of partons in impact parameter space and accounts for the absorptive effects and the growth of 'wee' parton transverse momenta when the parton density becomes large (close to saturation). We consider the differential elastic cross section (d\sigma_{el}/dt), the dependence of single parton dissociation (\xi d\sigma/d\xi) on the momentum fraction \xi=1-x_L lost by the leading proton and on the momentum transfer, t, and multiplicity distribution in high mass proton dissociation.
